Always PREPARED!

Cub Scout Values

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
And to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

A Scout is…

TRUSTWORTHY, LOYAL, HELPFUL, FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS, KIND, OBEDIENT, CHEERFUL, THRIFTY, BRAVE, CLEAN and REVERENT

Adventure Camp, Here We Come!

Please arrive at Ocee Elementary’s parking lot on States Bridge by 10:15am on Wednesday, July 20.

We are planning on leaving Ocee by 10:30 am if possible.

We plan to be at the BSA by 12:45pm. We will need everyone present in order to check in.

Scouts (and leaders) need to wear their Orange Pack T shirt. We will take a Pack photo when we get to camp, and we will be crushing it in all that orange!

Adults are part of the photo, so don’t think you’re getting out of it! Please wear orange if you’d like.

For the GPS dependent:  Bert Adams Boy Scout Camp (cannot put address online) Covington, GA 30016

***We plan to meet for lunch at Zaxby’s (*****Covington GA 30014). You do not have to eat there, but we would like for all to assemble before making lunch plans.

There are other places you may choose to lunch such as: Longhorns or Chick Fil A & Dairy Queen farther down. You may also bring a picnic lunch. It’s up to you! Scouts who are carpooling should probably discuss this beforehand and make a plan.

Please See News and Updates page for further details.

Friends of Scouting

We had a good response to the Friends of Scouting campaign at Blue and Gold with 30 families turning in their pledge cards. We are at around 50% of our goal of 100% participation from the entire Pack.

It truly is an investment in Scouting.  In this great program that your son is part of.

If you didn’t get a chance to turn in your pledge card yet, you can do so online as well at the link below:

https://www.kintera.org/AutoGen/Simple/Donor.asp?ievent=101760&en=dmJPI6OPKcJYKgNSJbLVKcN2JnLSL8MYLpIXIhOaJAI

Please ensure that at the bottom, you indicate you are with Pack 699 so they tally that to our group.

Thank y’all very much for being involved in the Scouting program and making it a priority in your son’s life.

Leadership

BoyScoutsLGBT

The Cub Scout Leadership is two-fold. There are Cubmasters at the Pack level and Den leaders for each rank.

Our leaders are trained to the highest level possible, participating in continual growth and leadership programs. The Cubmasters and Den Leader follow the BSA’s guides based on the rank of the den, which are designed to support the purposes of Cub Scouting and are chosen to help promote the overall aims of Scouting:

  • To develop a boy’s character,
  • Train him in good citizenship,
  • And encourage him to become more fit—physically, mentally, and morally.

Required Training

Youth Protection training is required for all BSA registered volunteers.

Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer’s Youth Protection training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be re-registered.

BSA-Being A Cub Scout

Being a Cub Scout means you are a member of a worldwide youth movement that stands for certain values and beliefs. Cub Scouting is more than something to do. It’s all about the boy you are and the person you will become.

Uniforms, Advancement, Awards, and Recognitions

Did you know that you can earn more than 90 awards as a Cub Scout? Whether it’s a rank advancement, an adventure loop or pin, or one of the many other individual awards, there is plenty for you to set your sights on.
